Members of the Brick and Blocklayers Federation Board are elected by their peers to represent the industry.
The BBFNZ Board has 7 industry positions - 5 elected by affiliated associations and 2 from the BBFNZ Manufacturing Council. Currently on the Board are:
Affiliated Association Representatives:
Brendan Kerr (Chairperson). Based in Invercargill Brendan operates Brendan Kerr Limited. In Brendan’s spare time he participates in Iron Man competitions
Craig King. Craig is responsible for our Governance and Management workstream. His main focus currently is assisting the Federation to develop the Manufacturing Council. Craig is the managing director of CF King Contracting Limited in Auckland. Craig is an avid visitor to our National walking parks.
Kevin Heath. Kevin leads the Health and Safety workstream for the Federation. Based in the lovely Bay of Plenty, Kevin runs Western Bay Bricklayers Ltd.
Jan Buckland. Jan is based in Canterbury and was the cornerstone of the Brick and Block Association in Canterbury. Jan is the Executive Officer of the New Zealand Masonry Trades Association and director of Buckland Brick and Block.
Manufacturing Council Representatives
In October 2014 the Board elected Steve Crossland as Technical Officer for the Federation to provide guidance and technical information for the Federation. Steve is the Technical & Specifications Manager (Masonry) for Firth. He is well respected by the Board for his knowledge and enthusiasm for the Industry.
Christy Thompson from Firth oversees the secretarial services for the Board. Christy also is the champion for the Brick and Block Industry's Silver Trowel award and strong supporter of the Auckland Masonry Trades Association.
